Winnipeg based Conviron has been selected
as one of Manitoba Business Magazine’s
Best in Business Award recipients
for the year 2000. The award was presented to Steven
Kroft, President and CEO of Conviron, by the
Honourable Becky Barrett, Manitoba Minister of
Labour, and Kerry Hawkins, President of Cargill
Canada Ltd. and Chairman of the Business Council
of Manitoba.
According to Ritchie Gage, Editor-in-Chief of Manitoba
Business Magazine, “these awards identify
companies which have demonstrated prudent
management practices which have coped with transition
and specifi c challenges in their respective
sectors.”
“Conviron has been designing and exporting
equipment around the world for more than 35
years”,
said Steven in receiving the award on
behalf of Conviron and its more than 110 employees.
“To be recognized in this way, at home,
where nearly all of our employees live and work,
is particularly meaningful.”
Conviron works closely with scientists and researchers from around the world, understanding their needs and delivering innovative solutions for controlled environment systems to the agricultural and life science markets. The company has completed several large scale projects for customers ranging from international life science companies to universities and government research institutions.
