Procurement Specialist - Winnipeg, Manitoba
REPORTING TO: MANAGER, SUPPLY CHAIN
POSITION SUMMARY
A Procurement Specialist at Conviron will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, and support long-term business goals. The ideal Procurement Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify sourcing opportunities, manage supplier relationships, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Develop and implement category sourcing strategies across key spend areas
- Conduct market analysis and supplier benchmarking to identify sourcing opportunities
- Lead RFPs, RFQs, and contract negotiation with suppliers
- Evaluate supplier performance and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and cost targets are met
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and align sourcing strategies accordingly
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks
- Track and report on sourcing initiatives, savings, and performance metrics
- Support sustainability and diversity goals in the supply base
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills
- Proficiency in sourcing tools and ERP systems (e.g., Epicor)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- SCMP, or equivalent certification, is an asset
