John Proven, COO, appointed as President

The Board of Directors of the Controlled Environments Limited Group of Companies (CEL), owner of Winnipeg-based Conviron and British Columbia-based Argus Control Systems Ltd., is pleased to announce the appointment of John Proven as the company’s President. John retains his role as CEL’s Chief Operating Officer. Steve Kroft will continue to serve as the Company’s CEO & Executive Chairman and will remain active in CEL’s businesses as it continues to execute its growth strategy.

“John has played a critically important role as we have grown our businesses considerably over the past number of years,” said Kroft. “We have had an outstanding partnership, and this is a natural next step for both John and the CEL Group.”

Mr. Proven joined Conviron in 2010 after careers in the media and venture capital industries. John is a CA-CPA and a graduate of the Asper School of Business. He is on the Board of the Associates of the Asper School, where he previously served as the Board’s chair. John is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce and of Cerebra Health Inc.
